Competitive gymnastics is a specialized sport comprised of hard work and dedication that leads to growth both in sport and character. KC Elite gymnasts learn to work hard and set goals. They learn commitment and team work while establishing friendships and memories that last a lifetime. Gymnasts on the team have the chance to participate in additional events such as the Annual Pig Roast, Lock In, Movie Day, and Banquet.
At Elite Gymnastics & Aquatics, we offer competitive and semi-competitive teams. We also have partnered with our parents association, ECGA, to help with fundraising and provide support for the families of our competitive gymnasts. All team members of KC Elite train and compete under programs designed by USA Gymnastics. Through the try out process, gymnasts may be placed in either the Junior Olympic Program or Xcel Program. Having both JO and Xcel allows more gymnasts the opportunity to compete, and while the gymnasts compete in separate divisions, the two programs combined are the KC Elite Competitive Team and are of equal significance and value.
In the past 40 years, Elite has been proud to have State Champions, Regional Champions, Western National Champions and National competitors who have placed in the top ten in the nation. We have had athletes compete at the Elite and Collegiate level and many have received scholarships. In 1996, the coaching staff was recognized by the Kansas House of Representatives for Outstanding Contribution to Gymnastics.

KC Elite offers the Bronze, Silver, Gold, & Platinum Divisions of the USAG Xcel program. The Xcel Program is designed to offer a broad-based, affordable competitive experience outside the traditional Jr. Olympic Program. Xcel is a unique gymnastic opportunity where the athlete’s strengths are capitalized upon to create individualized routines for all apparatus. This system is focused on learning and developing new skills while enjoying the competitive aspects of gymnastics. It is a more personalized approach to all levels of gymnastics, not just the highest levels. Xcel gymnasts have the opportunity to compete in 5-9 mostly local meets per season.
Elite offers the USAG Junior Olympic program beginning at Level 3 or 4 through Level 10. KC Elite uses this program to promote the perfecting of basic skills, learning of new and more challenging skills, artistry, creativity, persistence, sportsmanship and camaraderie. While the JO program does require a larger time commitment, Elite is dedicated to balancing the work load. We have found that gymnasts who maintain a healthy balance between family, school, and gymnastics perform better in both school and gym, have stronger relationships both in and outside the gym, and are overall healthier and happier kids. JO gymnasts have the opportunity to compete in 5-9 local and/or out of town meets.
